N1 MUFFLER KIT - FL5

Honda sports cars are renowned for their unparalleled engine feel. What defines this feel is the direct delivery of power and the exhaust note. Whether new or classic, exhaust system tuning has always been an important element of Honda sports cars. To deliver such an exhilarating experience to the driver, SPOON SPORTS develops exhaust systems by testing them under various driving conditions. In 2021, SPOON SPORTS won the 25 Hours of Thunderhill using this N1 muffler kit on their FK8.

Exposing the driver to excessive exhaust noise during endurance races can cause unnecessary fatigue. On the other hand, when the exhaust sound is too quiet, it may not be able to maintain adrenaline levels and could lead to a loss of concentration while driving.

In terms of specifications, the N1 silencer is a proven product. Running the product in an endurance race allows us to gather data to understand how the sound affects the riders.

The drivers were very clear on this point: the sound generated by the SPOON SPORTS system helped them to concentrate throughout the race, but the sound was not excessive.

The system architecture, including pipe diameter and silencer placement, was determined from simulation data acquired on a test bench. Development was finalized after repeated testing under real-world conditions.

In anticipation of turbo upgrades, increased boost, and of course, racing, the downpipe and midpipe diameters have been finalized to 70mm. The 145mm mufflers are fitted with 80mm outlets.
